Hello, my name is Lara! I have recently graduated with a Master's Degree in Literary Studies from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. My major was English Literature and we also analysed how English Literature is valid in today's visual culture. I also have a PGCE specialising in English Studies and I'm TEFL certified. Before I started my Master's programme, I taught for 1 year and 4 months (including offline and online experience). Personally, I enjoy being active and exploring new places. These interests transpose into my teaching as my lessons are mentally and physically stimulating. Furthermore, I enjoy task-based learning which means that you'll learn English through an authentic lens by practising real-life scenarios. Thus, you can easily use your English lesson knowledge in your daily life. My expertise includes components of the English language such as grammar, writing skills, listening skills, and speaking skills (pronunciation); IELTS exam preparation; interview preparation; conversational English; and travel English. As a teacher, I'm patient, a critical thinker, engaging, friendly, and organised. Lastly, I believe that a classroom should be a safe space for students to ask questions and grow into a better version of themselves. I will ensure our classroom is filled with energy and positivity because English is best learned while having fun.
