Hi! I’m teacher Hera from the Philippines. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a teaching license. I’ve been teaching for 10 years. I taught Asian students between 2012 and 2020 online. In 2020, I flew to Japan to work as an English teacher. Initially, I was assigned in an English camp where I helped students prepare for their TOEIC, IELTS and EIKEN tests. After that I got transferred into a cram school where I helped build the school curriculum, designed materials and taught children how to read and write.
To better understand my students’ struggles, I decided to study a third language. I’ve been learning Spanish and it has shone some light on the kind of teacher my students need me to be.
