Hi, everyone! I am Tina, an ESL instructor who is tremendously passionate about the field of teaching. I have been staying in Hi tutor, a second home of mine, for almost eight years. Two words that I always keep in mind are passion and patience. Love your job and it will love you back. Encourage learners to keep going. If they feel like giving up, lift their spirits up because the significance of learning the language is truly exceptional to them. Flexibility matters a lot. We educate different levels, from beginners to advanced, and that's when we can change our teaching style. The stupendous hard work they show me is beyond belief. Having a long day at work, tied up, sleep-deprived, but their determination to acquire knowledge is never-ending. I admire their resolute optimism and determination. When it comes to the class, it is my responsibility to give timely corrections. That’s why I am here teaching. My top priority is to help them become better. Committing mistakes is essential. It’s an ingredient to the recipe of improvement. If the student prefers free talk, you should never run out of topics. Besides, I dislike dead air. I always show them that giving up is not in my vocabulary. I have learned that English is not only a universal language, a tool of communication, but it also builds a strong connection between two people (the instructor and the learner). We build a rapport and friendship while maintaining professionalism. You can laugh or even crack corny jokes with them. This way, they feel more comfortable. Yes, that’s what they tell me when I do that. They don’t want to have an environment that puts pressure on their shoulders and by talking with us they feel relaxed. They prefer to learn in a fun and exciting way. However, you have to remember, they are still students who are expecting excellent service from us. Determination is the key, the key to unlocking their mind that is full of hesitation and uncertainties. Squandering the chance to lend them a hand will never spring to mind because every lesson is worth dedication and attention. In fact, I invariably show my enthusiasm from beginning to end. I assure you that your first class with me will not be the last. I will do my utmost to make you feel that English is not something you should be afraid of, but it’s something you need to embrace with open arms. I am looking forward to meeting you all in class.
