Hello, and thank you for viewing my profile. My name is Thomas,I am a British, and I hold a First-Class Degree in Primary Education, I'm TEFL qualified and hold a Diploma in Art and Design. I have seven years of online teaching and classroom experience, working with students from ages 5 to 18, along with years of real-life leadership experience in the scuba diving industry in Thailand. My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in child development, differentiation, classroom management and creative lesson design — skills which I bring into every lesson.
Teaching is not only my profession, but also something I deeply enjoy. I am a keen swimmer, scuba diver, and photographer; these interests influence my classroom style. I believe that students learn best when lessons feel meaningful, visual, active and connected to real life. I frequently incorporate images, creativity, personal interests and learner-centred conversation into my teaching, helping students relax, express themselves and learn naturally through engagement rather than memorisation.
My areas of expertise include pronunciation coaching, speaking fluency, writing skills, business English, grammar and sentence structure, exam preparation, and young learner development. I help students improve accuracy and confidence through gentle guidance, modelling, scaffolding and continuous positive encouragement. Whether a learner wants to speak more naturally, prepare for an interview, improve writing, or simply build vocabulary for daily life, I tailor each lesson to their needs.
I strongly believe in a learner-centred teaching philosophy. Students should feel safe, supported and motivated, with opportunities to explore ideas, make mistakes and think creatively. Inspired by Vygotsky and Piaget, I view progress as something built step-by-step through interaction, curiosity and personal growth. My goal as a teacher is to make English an enjoyable tool 'not just a subject' and to guide learners in becoming confident communicators who can use language in the real world with pride.
I look forward to meeting you in class. Together, we will learn, grow and enjoy the journey of language learning.
